Skillionaires Podcasting Lessons and Milestones
The microphone is on, and what could possibly go wrong? Your guests are canceling, the sounds are failing. You realize youβve been talking for 20 minutes and nothing was recorded, or you publish the episode youβve worked on so hard and hardly anyone is listening. Welcome to the side of podcasting you rarely see. Iβm Dr. Angela, and to celebrate one year of Skilleneers, we are opening the doors to what happened behind the scenes.
On November the 5th at 5:00 PM Dubai time, we are going live. A birthday celebration, a live podcast conversation, an honest look and what it takes to build a podcast that people actually wanted to hear. And we reached in the first couple of weeks already chart number 49, but that was not always easy because a beautiful studio is only one beginning. You still need the right conversation, right? The right questions, a guest who feels comfortable enough to share something meaningful, and a reason for someone to choose your episode for everything else competing for their attention.
Iβm here to explain to you that a guest can arrive with wonderful credentials and very little theyβre willing to talk about. A guest can arrive with wonderful credentials and very little they are willing to talk about. An answer can go on for five minutes without getting to the point, and youβre trying to surf on that wave to direct the conversation for the listeners to be actually very insightful and interesting.
You can prepare every question and still miss the most interesting part of the whole conversation when you are in the conversation itself, and you can have a brilliant moment and you discover somehow an audio could be possibly unusable. And you can have a brilliant moment, and you discover the audio should be unusable. But with the right podcast studio, you always have a backup, and that is something that Iβm so happy for.
Thereβs always a backup. Thereβs always a plan B for something. And sometimes the episode is good, but the title gives nobody the reason to really click. The opening takes too long. The clips donβt capture what made the conversation actually special. Or you publish it, share it once, and people will somehow find it but not really share it. There are so many places where a podcast can lose its momentum, and then there is the business side of it.
Studio time, editing, video production, design, promotion, your own preparation, your own time. Oh, many times I have thought I can do this actually with my own setup myself. But can you be really that person who is checking the sound, the makeup, the hairdress, the content, and then still deliver on point a very interesting conversation? And at some point, you have to ask yourself, βIβm building something sustainable,β or, βI have actually created a very expensive hobby.β That question deserves an honest answer.
And because a podcast can be valuable long before it earns money directly. It can help people to understand your experience. It can start relationship with your clients. Actually, you are sitting only one millimeter away from your possibly future clients. You actually be one centimeter away from the brain of your possibly clients, and that is something so valuable. It can introduce your work to people who might never have discovered any other things of you otherwise.
And you have, with the podcast, a really good opportunity to buy that piece of real estate in the brain of your future client. But you need to know what you wanted to achieve. And with Skilleneers, we had an exciting start. In our first week, we reached actually number 49 in the UAE podcast charts in the subject of business podcast. For a new podcast, that was a very, very insightful momentum and worth to celebrate.
I was super supported by this podcast studio here, and the whole Podster family had celebrated with me. It gave us an early sign that people were finding and listening to what we were creating, and it gave us something that concrete to share when introducing the podcast to others. But a podcast positioning is one snapshot. The next question is, how do you build on that attention? How do you give people a reason to come back and listen it again, to subscribe to your channel, to your podcast?
And how Do you turn those conversations into lasting value? Thatβs what I wanted to explore and give you also some insights. How can a podcast generate revenue? There are sponsorships, partnerships, paid experiences, and there is a business that can grow around the podcast. If someone listens to that regularly, they have an opportunity to understand how you think. As I said, you are literally buying a piece of real estate in the brain of others, and with having your earphones on and listen, you are very close to the mind of your audience.
They are hearing the questions that you ask. They see what matters to you. You are building a relationship actually that you donβt know is really existing, and over time, that can help them to decide what they wanted to work on or maybe even with you. For me, that creates a natural connection to the Skillionaire annual program where we can take a conversation about growth and to turn into a sustainable work on someoneβs business.
The podcast opens the conversation, the program provides the way to continue working together, and there is one possibly business model as well. The important question is: what is the right model for your podcast? What does the audience value, and what can you offer that fits for your audience, and how will you know whether itβs working or not? And thatβs why on November the 5th, we are bringing these questions into our birthday broadcast podcast.
Weβll talk about the perspective, the pitfalls, the unexpected moments, and the opportunities. And weβre doing it live. That is really something that also is out of my comfort zone. But with the support of such a great podcast studio, I can only imagine it to become really successful, which means weβre putting together our own preparations. We are doing something so many podcasters are dreaming of, bringing the conversation into a live room, hearing from the audience, and celebrate a year of work with the people who helped it make it happen.
And Iβm super proud to be supported here and could only learn from the best. You can join that live stream from wherever you are. If you are in Dubai, you can also register your interest in our birthday gathering live in the podcast studio. Bring your curiosity, especially the ones are about to happen after someone says, βLetβs start the podcast.β November the 5th, 5:00 p.m., one year Skillionaires behind the scenes, live conversations, and a birthday worth celebrating.
Send me birthday for your personal invitation. I am Dr. Angela, and I would love to celebrate with you. Skillionaires, one year Skillionaire, the stories that stick and strategies that scale. Yeah.
